First Capital Plus Premier League Week 15 Final fixture, which Club will answer these questions?

BY: Yussif Alhassan Uthman

Ahead of the last round of games in the first round of the First capital plus premier league, GhFootballFacts’ Yussif Alhassan Uthman asks EIGHT QUESTIONS that will be answered at the end of match week 15 on Wednesday.........

Can Ashgold be champions at the break? (Ashgold vs Hearts of oak, Wednesday, 3:00PM)
Ashgold have remained top of the league for a long time and will surely like to be there at the break. To do that, they have to get at least a point at the len clay stadium in their game against Hearts of oak in the top liner of the match week 15.

Who can outplay WAFA? Wa All Stars? (WAFA vs Wa All Stars, Wednesday, 3:00PM)
WAFA have virtually dominated possession in every game they play this season and are the surprise team of the FCPPL. They host Wa All stars- a side that is also so good at keeping the ball. Sogakope will be the venue of attraction and the fixture will not disappoint.

Will Berekum Chelsea’s imperious home record come under threat? (Berekum Chelsea vs Inter Allies, Wednesday, 3:00PM)
Berekum Chelsea has not lost a home fixture since losing to Amidaus Professionals by a lone goal in December 2012. They have since gone 32 games at home without a defeat, winning 25 and drawing 7. They host another side from Tema, Inter Allies at their favourite Golden City Park in Berekum on Wednesday hoping they can go 33 unbeaten.

Can BA United survive at the T and A? (Medeama SC vs BA United, Wednesday, 3:00PM)
BA United travels to the Tarkwa T and A park to face Medeama SC, another team in the FCPPL who are yet to lose a fixture at home. BA united has only managed to score two goals away from home all season long and will be hoping that awful trend will come to an end when they face the Mauves and Yellow.

Bechem United currently find themselves in the relegation dog fight- a situation they will hope to move away from by the time the league will be on break. To move out, they must get a result against Hasaacas at home in Bechem. Hasaacas have also not won an away game all season.

Can Liberty go four without a defeat? (Liberty Professionals vs Aduana Stars, Wednesday, 3:00PM)
Liberty have won one and drawn one of their last two matches but lost all four preceding games in all competitions. They host second place Aduana Stars who have not won any of their last five away games. The game will take place at the Carle Reindorlf Park in Dansoman.

Will Lions put more pressure on the Porcupine warriors? (Kotoko vs Heart of Lions, Wednesday, 3:00PM)
Kpando Heart of Lions will travel to take on Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. They are bent on compounding more misery on the porcupine warriors who play under immense pressure at their home grounds.

Can Olympics defence stop free scoring Edubiase? (Olympics vs Edubiase, Wednesday, 3:00PM)

Wonder club Olympics will play Edubiase at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Accra based side have kept four clean sheets in their last four games and will be looking to keep one more before the end of the first round. Edubiase have scored 19 goals and conceded 25 in the 14 games they have played so far. they are the league's leading scoring club, and also the most conceding  club, having allowed in 25 goals.

FIRST CAPITAL PLUS PREMIER LEAGUE WEEK-15 PREVIEW: Kotoko host Lions as Hearts visit Ashgold

The first round of the first capital plus premier league comes to an end with some exciting ties across eight league centers on Wednesday.

League leaders Ashgold will look to bounce back from their Wa disappointment as they take on Accra Hearts of Oak at the Obuasi Len clay sports stadium. The Phobians will be determine to be the first team to beat the miners at home this season where as the home side will be looking to finish the first round of the league on a high note. Bashir Hayford’s men are currently top of the league on 28 points, 3 points ahead of Aduana Stars in second place and a point on Wednesday will guarantee them top spot at the break.

Wa all stars will embark on an 869KM journey to Sogakope to face high flying WAFA on the back of an impressive display against the leaders Ashgold last Sunday. WAFA has been the revelation of the season and are currently enjoying a great start to life in Ghana’s top flight. They are third on the log and will try to put pressure on second place Aduana who travel to Dansoman to take on Liberty professionals. The Sogakope side will move up to the second on the table if they better Aduana’s result in midweek.

The Carl  Reindorf Park will be the venue of attraction when Liberty professionals face Aduana Stars. Liberty will hope to continue their current run of form that has seen them collect 4 points from their last 2 games after failing to pick up a single point in the preceding 4 matches in all competitions. Aduana Stars on the other hand  will hope to improve on their away form after failing to pick up a single point from their last five away fixtures in the league.

Elsewhere at the Golden City Park, Berekum Chelsea will play host to Paa Kwesi Fabin’s Inter Allies hoping to maintain their imperious home invincibility. Berekum Chelsea has not lost a home fixture since  December  2012 and that record is going to be targeted by the ‘eleven is to one’ who saw their own home invincibility broken by WAFA last Sunday. Another home win will take Chelsea who are at present on 19 points, above Inter Allies who are currently fifth on 20 points.

Medeama SC will look to consolidate fourth position on the log with a victory against relegation threatened BA United at the Tarkwa ‘T and A’ park. Medeama will be full of confidence not only because they are yet to lose a home fixture this season but also facing a team that has scored just a single away goal all season long. An unlikely victory for BA United will be a major upset but not entirely impossible.

Bechem United will face Hasaacas at the Bechem Park. After an impressive start to the campaign, the Bechem sides are now lying in the relegation zone but a victory will see them out and move them up the ladder. Hasaacas have a very good home record but like most of Ghana’s top flight teams, they have a terrible away record and have won just a single point away from all season.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play as host to Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. The porcupine warriors will have to avoid a defeat to the Kpando based side in order to regain their lost support from their fans. Lions might not be at a position where they would have wished to be at this time of the season but a victory against David Duncan’s side will catapult them into the top four if results of other fixtures go in their favor.

The last game of the first round of matches in the FCPPL will see Great Olympics, unbeaten since  Yaw Acheampong took over as coach, take on  New Edubiase FC. Olympics have not conceded a single goal in their last four games but it will be interesting as they match up against a free scoring Edubiase side that have scored 19 goals in 14 games this season. Edubiase themselves have a problem of their own- they are also the team that has conceded the highest number of goals, 25 in 14 games.

FIRST CAPITAL PLUS PREMIER LEAGUE : DERBY DAY TALKING POINT

By Derek Dapaah

The 5 Derbies in the Week 14 of the First Capital Plus Premier League  has come to an end, but the major talking points from BA United's victory to Accra Hearts of Oak's goalless draw game at the Accra Sports Stadium.

                                                                 BA United vrs Berekum Chelsea
The predicted was that they (BA United) will do all they can to pick up the points availabe due to the difficulties Berekum Chelsea went through. BA United won the derby in a style but nothing changes for them on the league table, still at the bottom. Mustapha Mohammed and Charles Oppong gave the home team the lead before a survival goal came in the 92nd minutes through Stephen Asare Baffour for Chelsea but it was not enough to grab a point for them.  BA United will travel away to Tarkwa to play Medeama SC whiles Berekum Chelsea to play Inter-Allies at home.

                                                                Aduana Stars vrs Bechem United
Aduana went for it and are holding on to their unbeaten run at home. Bechem drops to the 15th position after losing in the Bono derby. it coming because Dormaa is a difficult place for many clubs this season and it looked like Bechem could not survive. Great game by all  standards. An early  lead gave Aduana the win they needed courtesy Richard Addai. Aduana will be looking foward to close the gap at the top when they visit Liberty on Wednesday whiles Bechem will seek to bounce back against Hasaacas at home in midweek.

                                                              Hasaacas vrs Medeama SC
Medeama SC bad away form continues as they achieved their 3rd successive draw (6 games- 3 defeats, 3 draws). The Western derby produced a  brace for Enmanuel Akobeah who scored for Hasaacas whiles Hans Kwofie and Nathaniel Asamoah did it for Medeama SC. It was a fairy-tale battle in the Western derby as it produced four (4) goals. Both teams rised to the occasion. Hasaacas maintained their position on the league table as Medeama on the rise. Medeama will welcome BA United at home whiles Hasaacas will travel to Bechem.

New Edubiase vrs Kumasi Asante Kotoko
The league champions are struggling to find their first victory after they were eliminated from the Inter-club competition. Edubiase played to the level as was expected and took the lead in the 9th minute through Benard Ofori but Kotoko equalised through Jordan Opoku and took the lead for the first time in the game courtesy Emmanuel Asante before New Edubiase captalized on the pressure they exerted on Kotoko through Haminu Dramani. What a game it was at Len Clay, anything expected in a derby match was produced after 90 minutes. Edubiase to play Olympics whiles Kotoko to welcome Lions.

                                                 Olympics vrs Hearts of Oak
It was obviously the game of the week and it never got  bored or dull. Experience vrs a pacey side. Many fans expected goals in the Ga derby but, both coaches strategised well to let the points be splitted Hearts impacted their African style of play into the league for the first time but well organized Olympics stood to every battle on the pitch from their opponent. Good game to watch, and much will be expected in the  return encounter. Fans trooped to the stadium in numbers and cheered their various clubs to victory but ended goalless. Richard Kingson is yet to concede in the league as Olympics takes on Edubiase,  whiles Hearts travels to Len Clay to face the league leaders, Ashanti Gold in midweek.

FIRST CAPITAL PLUS PREMIER LEAGUE WEEK 14; WHICH CLUB WILL ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS?

BY: YUSSIF ALHASSAN UTHMAN.

Ahead of another weekend of great football action in the First capital plus premier league, GhFootballFacts’ Yussif Alhassan Uthman ponders EIGHT QUESTIONS that will be answered by the end of match week-14 on Sunday…..

Can Inter Allies continue their impressive home form against WAFA? (Inter Allies vs WAFA, Saturday, 3:15PM)

It is a record that not many expected of a side like Inter Allies after 13 games in the FCPPL but the ‘eleven is to one’ are yet to lose a home fixture and have conceded just once all season at their favorite Tema Sports stadium. WAFA, their guest in the only fixture on Saturday will try to be the first team to inflict a home defeat to the Tema boys or be the second team after Hearts of oak to put the ball at t5he back of Allies net.

Will the Olympic veterans come to the party against Phobia? (Great Olympics vs Hearts of Oak, Sunday, 3:00PM)

Accra Great Olympics have looked a different team from the team that started the season ever since the trio of Dan Quaye, goalkeeper Richard Kinson and Captain Godwin Attram joined the club. The three former black stars players have managed to inspire the young lads in the team and the ‘wonder club’ have seen improvement in their especially in the department being filled by these players. Olympics have won two and drawn one in their last three games keeping three clean sheets in the process but none of those games were played under a condition as intense as a local derby. They host local rivals Hearts of Oak in the Accra Derby in a game in which bragging right is at stake.

Can Duncan’s Porcupine warriors silent their critics? (New Edubiase vs Kotoko, Sunday, 3:00PM)

David Duncan had a terrific start to life as a Kotoko coach helping the club to an impressive away draw in their CAF Champions league fixture against EL- Eulma of Algeria and subsequently winning against Liberty professional in the league in Kumasi. But after suffering a shock defeat in the second leg of their Champions league fixture against Eulma, fans of the club have become the biggest critics of the club and neither their progression into the FA cup last 16 nor their thrashing of Wassaman United in the Elite cup has convinced the fans of the quality of Duncan’s ammunitions.  Koto will travel to Obuase to face regional rivals New Edubiase at the Lenclay stadium on Sunday.

Can the ‘Scientific’ Liberty escape the Lion’s Den unscathed? (Heart of Lions vs Liberty Pros, Sunday, 3:00PM)

Hearts of Lions will welcome Liberty professionals at the Kpando Park on Sunday. Both sides per their own pedigree have had a less than impressive start to the season but the Kpando lads have at least some consistency as they are yet to concede a goal at home and are the side with the highest number of clean sheets in the league, 7 this season. Liberty themselves have blown hot and cold and currently 10th on the log but just one point behind Lions who are 7th.

Will Bechem United be the team to defile the odds in Dorma? (Aduana Stars vs Bechem United, Sunday, 3:00PM)

Bechem United managed to avoid a four-game losing streak when they played Hearts of Lions in matck week-13 after previously recording back to back losses against Edubiase, Kotoko and Liberty in the preceding games. But they now face an even more difficult task of facing Aduana Stars in Dorma- a venue where not many have good memories of. Aduana Stars are currently second on the log behind Ashgold and are also yet to lose a home fixture in this year’s league conceding just a single home goal in the process.
