Pundits Corner: Derek Dapaah's Prediction of First Capital Plus Premier League week 20

With Only 10 matches remaining after this weekend round of matches in the First Capital Plus Premier League, Derek Dapaah looks at how the various team positions themselves at the relegation looks into the faces of so of them
Aduana Stars vrs WAFA
They have to blame themselves for where they are lying(6th position) despite it's not over.  Aduana style is lackadaisical in terms of how they approach games both home and away. They are very strong at home, but not convincing from away matches and have picked only 3 points from their away encounters. Aduana have a solid home record in the league, having picked maximum points from all their home games. WAFA could end the record if they run the entire 90minutes, because if they don't this match will end in a draw. WAFA style of play can trouble every club because of their inter-positional passes. I can't never go against them even if they lose at away, last weekend they were among the highest scoring clubs so I see them playing well this weekend. I will like go for WAFA win but the threat  Aduana poses at home makes it difficult to predict against them.
Dapaah predicts: Aduana Stars 2:1 WAFA
Form guide: Aduana Stars- DLWL: 6th position
                      WAFA- LDDW: 3rd position
Sekondi Hasaacas vrs Ashanti Gold
AshantiGold are now playing like champions although they ain't yet champions. They did that last week against B A United. Hasaacas will be looking forward to bouncing back after their shambolic performance in Sogakope, but it will be difficult to do that against the league leaders. Hasaacas are good side at home and AshantiGold has pulled out some surprises this second round not losing a match in the process drawing two(2) and winning two(2). It's an impressive run for a club who really wants to win the league. I will go for a split of points here despite Hasaacas being good at home.
Dapaah predicts: Sekondi Hasaacas 2:2 Ashanti Gold
Form guide: Sekondi Hasaacas- WDWL: 11th position
                      Ashanti Gold- DWDW: 1st position

B A United vs Hearts Of Oak

B A United, only two(2) points in four(4) matches, which is very bad. They were my team to watch in this second round but it seems they are fallen short of it. I think B A now knows that they will be relegated despite more than ten(10) fixtures to go because they aren't playing well for their fans and the board is not helping as well. I think they are starting to give up for their stay in the league. Hearts of Oak must blame themselves for what's happening to them. You have got good defenders and midfielders but bad strikers, why don't you play without a striker and get the results than playing them to lose the results. If Hearts loses against B A United come Sunday then, their strikers must not start four(4) games in any competition this season and train more than the normal team training. They have nothing to lose at BA against BA United. Hearts should win with any shoreline because every club is scoring the club I thought will rise in the second round. BA's fixtures aren't helping them but they should keep preparing the players for the smaller clubs against the big clubs.
Dapaah predicts: BA United 1:2 Accra Hearts of Oak
Form guide: BA United- DLDL: 16th position
Accra Hearts of Oak- DWLD: 10th position

Inter Allies  vrs Wa All Stars
Allies haven't won a game in this second round and also haven't lost a game as well. They have been a decent club so far but they must add victory to their decent run. Wa All Stars are now dangerous because of where they are lying, 2nd position. They will do everything in this game to be there but Allies will be hoping for a first victory of the second round so we will have a game to watch this Sunday at the Tema Sports Stadium. It will be a difficult game for both clubs but Allies has the major merit in this game due to home support so they should let the fans fill the stadium to numbers. I will go for Allies to win this comfortably.
Dapaah predicts: Inter Allies 2:0 Wa All Stars
Form guide: Inter Allies- DDDD: 12th position
Wa All Stars- WLWW: 2nd position

Kumasi Asante Kotoko vrs Bechem United
Can Bechem capitalize on the bad run of the Champions? No. Despite Kotoko having a bad run doesn't mean Bechem United can beat them at Baba yara Sports Stadium. If Kotoko loses this fixture, some of the players must be sacked at the end of the season. Bechem has nothing to achieve at Baba Yara come Sunday. Duncan should start getting some young boys to the senior side so that he can get players who are hungry for success  else his job or record will be in a real mess. I urge Kotoko to beat Bechem hands-down this weekend whether rain or shine. A comfortable victory for Kotoko despite struggling.
Dapaah predicts: Kumasi Asante Kotoko 3:0 Bechem United
Form guide: Kumasi Asante Kotoko- LLWL: 9th position
                       Bechem United- LWDW: 8th position

New Edubiase vrs Medeama SC
New Edubiase have had a good away run in this second round pick 3points from two games than home (2points only out of two(2) games). Medeama SC club are not a real threat to New Edubiase at home, so I think New Edubiase will get their three(3) vital points. New Edubiase didn't pull out their best last weekend against Bechem and I hope that attitude towards that game ends there because it was very abysmal for a club like Edubiase to play the way they did against Bechem United. Now, they lie in the relegation zone and they must win matches at home it will be difficult to pick points from away. Medeama won against Lions but there was a bad officiating in their victory, but they know that they are a bad away side this season. I think anywhere they lie at the end of the season, they will appreciate it. A calmly victory for Edubiase in this fixture.
Dapaah predicts: New Edubiase 2:1 Medeama SC
Form guide: New Edubiase- DWDL: 14th position
                      Medeama SC- DDLW: 7th position

Heart of Lions vrs Berekum Chelsea
Lions started the second round well and everybody thought they were going to be a big threat in the league but it's been worse so far. Despite some bad officiating in the  Medeama game, they have only picked one(1) victory in their last four(4) games.  Berekum Chelsea haven't been bad although they've lost a game. I think they will stand to the occasion and disturb Lions very well because Lions won't play at Kpando in this fixture and some coming home fixtures and I feel sorry for them. It will be tough  for them, playing away from home. this presents Berekum Chelsea to pick their first win from away in 30 matches, but  I will go for a points split in this fixture.
Dapaah predicts: Heart of Lions 1:1 Berekum Chelsea
Form guide: Heart of Lions- WLDL: 13th position
                       Berekum Chelsea- DWLW: 5th position

Great Olympics vrs Liberty Professionals
It is another Greater Accra derby but it's the battle between experience players versus the little twinkle stars. For now Liberty is the club who are enjoying because they score as many as they want when they play with their opponents, Olympics are struggling. Unfortunately things don't seem not to be good for the Dade boys. I feel pity for them because the relegation atmosphere is just smelling on the mouth of their own shoes. Fans are chanting for their club from Metro tv due to Metro's records with some clubs. I see no changes in this fixture for Olympics neither Liberty. Olympics fans will keep getting hungry match by match even if they win because they want their team back from Metro tv. I am going for the in-form club to win this fixture.
Dapaah predicts: Great Olympics 1:2 Liberty Professional

Form guide: Great Olympics- DLLL: 15th position

MTN FA CUP: ASHANTIGOLD TO TEST THE RECOVERY OF ASANTE KOTOKO

The Recovery conditions of Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be put to test as First Capital Plus Premier League leaders Ashantigold SC pay them a visit in  the race for the last two position of the MTN FA CUP competition.

Asante Kotoko who have conceded 10 goals in their last four premier league matches will seek to tighten up their defence against an Ashantigold side who have scored in all of their last four premier league matches.
Kotoko qualified to the quarter finals stage of the competition after defeating Real Tamale United by a lone goal in their round of 16 match after they had beating lower tier sides Paga Crocodiles and Birim DC United in the Round of 64 and 32 respectively.
Ashgold on the other hand, have conceded just a single goal so far in the competition, made it through to this stage after beating Cornerstone(2-0) and Wa African United (3-0) before eliminating last year’s finalists Inter Allies in the round of 16 match played at the Len Clay Stadium.

Pundits Corner: Derek Dappah's prediction of the First Capital Plus Premier League

The Boys are gradually being separated from the men as the First Capital Plus Premier League goes into week 19 this weekend, and as usual, Derek Dapaah predicts the outcome of these matches which includes two regional derbies.
Medeama SC vrs Heart of Lions
A bouncing back game for Medeama SC after losing in their mid- week fixture. I think Medeama knows that they can't get the results at away but can get it at home so they will do all it takes to grab this point against Lions. Lions had a good away run during the first round but this second round it hasn't been encouraging at all. I don't see Lions giving Medeama SC a tough time at Tarkwa so I will go for Medeama SC victory.
Dapaah predicts: Medeam SC 2:0 Heart of Lions

Ashanti Gold vrs BA United
One of the unbeaten clubs in the second round and they are looking like worthy champions but not champions now. AshantiGold are a real good side at home and BA United ain't pulling to my satisfaction as I thought it will go well for them in the second round. I think they have taken themselves out of the league come next season because the results ain't coming. Ashgold has no excuses if they lose this game to a weak BA United side this Sunday. B A have nothing to achieve at Obuasi so sorry for their fans. Dapaah predicts: Ashanti Gold 2:0 BA United

WAFA vrs Hasaacas
WAFA's victory at Sogakope. No one can stand them at home so I don't see Hasaacas giving them problems. WAFA play as they want at home and score when they feel so how will Hasaacas cope with it. Hasaacas ain't a bad side but they can't stand it at Sogakope. I can't go against WAFA at any level due to style of play, a real Academy team.
Dapaah predicts: WAFA 2:1 Hasaacas

Wa All Stars vrs Olympics
Wrong fixture at a wrong time for Olympics. They will attack Metro again in this fixture because another defeat to follow and relegation fever will start catching them. Wa All Stars have proved it to me that at home their opponent's victory is a draw and Hearts of Oak game is an example of it, so Olympics should be ready for another defeat at Wa. I have nothing to go against Wa All Stars at home this time, unless there is a decline in the home run.
Dapaah predicts: Wa All Stars 2:0 Olympic

Bechem United vs New Edubiase
Good at home vrs the in-form midfielders. Bechem are good at home, no doubt about that but can it run towards Edubiase who has good midfielders in the league as at now.  New Edubiase will give everything out to make this game end in a draw but BECHEM will be a difficult task for them to grab a point(s), unless they run throughout the game and get a strategy that will map to Bechem's own. I see Bechem grabbing what belongs to them after 90minutes, unless Edubiase do what I said earlier on. A nice game to watch far away in Bechem. The fans should rally behind their clubs this weekend to get what they need because Edubiase are pulling out something for their fans as well as Bechem have really done well this season.
Dapaah predicts: Bechem United 2:1 New Edubiase

Berekum Chelsea vs Aduana
The chasers battle- Both clubs are chasing Ashgold and the second place. We have a game to watch. It is going to be a nice game to watch, I urge every fan or football enthusiast to go to the stadium to watch this lively game. Both clubs will go at it and I will go for a point split, despite Berekum Chelsea's form at home but bad away run from home. Aduana will also be looking forward to close the five(5) points between them and the league leaders and maintain the three(3) points between them and Chelsea so we really have a game to watch this weekend. As I said, I will go for a point split, unless Aduana does their things again (plays very abysmal) at away.
Dapaah predicts: Berekum Chelsea 2:2 Aduana

Liberty Professional 1:1 Kumasi Asante Kotoko
Woow, what a game to watch because Kotoko will be looking forward to make it two out of two in Accra (defeated Olympics and beat Liberty Sunday) but it won't be easy at all. Liberty is unbeaten (2 draws and 1 win) in the second round and will continue with the run and make it a record. Kotoko were fantastic against Olympics and is the beginning of a new era they were looking for? Only Sunday's fixture will tell but I see that match ending in a draw but Liberty can turn things around.
Dapaah predicts: Liberty Professional 1:1 Kumasi Asante Kotoko

Accra Hearts of Oak vrs Inter Allies
It is hard to find out what's wrong with Hearts whether tactics or fatigue. They ain't putting up their best in this league and I think the board is not thinking of a top four(4) finish but will get a domestic trophy for the fans. Allies can trouble Hearts well with their nice away form but if only the players will stand to the occasion. I see this match being an entertaining fixture to produce a narrow victory for one club. Allies weren't all that good against Ashgold at home in the mid-week fixture and Hearts will be aiming to bounce back after their shambolic performance against Wa All Stars. I go for a Phobia victory come what- may.
Dapaah predicts: Accra Hearts of Oak 1:0 Inter Allies

Pundits Corner : Derek Dapaah’s prediction of Ghana Premier League Week 18

Its another match day in the first Capital Plus Premier League, yet again, Derek Dapaah looks into the matches and makes his prediction ahead of the matches

Hasaacas vrs Berekum Chelsea
The beginning of a new era/battle. Both clubs will be looking forward to start some journey here or in this fixture. Hasaacas to avoid relegation whiles Berekum Chelsea will be catching up Ashanti Gold at the top. It will be a very good game to watch so I urge fans at Sekondi to make it to the stadium come what may; rain or shine. Hasaacas to put Chelsea to the sword due to their own bad away run record. Berekum Chelsea are now only one away match from completing two clear seasons without an away win in the League and must find a solution to this problem or else they will slip like their fellow counter-part, Aduana Stars.  Hasaacas on the other hand are very good at home with 21 unbeaten home run, but both teams have recorded some significant amount of draws in their matches.
Dapaah predicts: Hasaacas 2 - 1Berekum Chelsea

Inter Allies vrs Ashanti Gold
Allies will be looking forward to give their fans the first victory of the second round against Ashgold. With Ashgold leading the log with six(7) points difference, they will be hoping to maintain it but Allies to end it at Tema. Allies have played good football in the second round but very hard to find the vital three(3) points in their two(2) previous games. Ashgold ain't playing bad either and this Twma battle will be fiercely contested.
Dapaah predicts Inter Allies 1- 0

Olympics vrs Kotoko
The bouncing back game. The two clubs will be looking forward to bounce back from their weekend defeats respectively. Olympics has the biggest advantage to win this game due to Kotoko's poor run in the second half of the league. Duncan is getting his selections and tactics wrong in every game and I can say Olympics must punish them also. I don't think Kotoko has what it takes to finish at the top four of the table and they should just give Duncan some time to get things well. Sorry for Kotoko fans in Accra, they can't beat Olympics.
Dapaah predicts: Great Olympics 2:1 Kotoko

New Edubiase vrs Liberty
It will be one of the beautiful games to watch in the mid-week fixtures. Edubiase was fantastic last fixture as well as Liberty too. Edubiase beat the league champions at their home ground to grab the vital points and Liberty was the only club to score more than two(2) goals so we have a real game to watch. Liberty have been good week-by-week but sometimes their inconsistency is a worry, New Edubaise are the league's top scoring club, and also the most conceding club, it is a fact they are going to score, but can they prevent Kennedy Ashia, Charles, Dwamna, Baba Zakaria, and Latif Blessing from causing havoc in their scoring area, it promises to be a must watch gsme.
Dapaah predicts :New Edubiase 2 - 1 Liberty Professionals

Aduana Stars vrs Medeama SC
I quite remember two(2) seasons ago, every football enthhsiast will be yearning to watch this fixture because of their style of play and the callibre of players they produces. But this time it is not the best of it. I think Aduana will just give all at it for the necessary points needed because they have slipped from their position. Medeama will ask many questions to the back four(4) of Aduana and they must answer them with a cleen sheet as well. I see this fixture as a simple one for the home team to get things at the right path.
Dapaah predicts: Aduana Stars 1-0 Medeama SC

BA United  vrs WAFA
B A United is still the club I want to see a change this second round so they are winning this game. WAFA are very good side and a decent team but are on and off when playing away. I see them giving BA a lot of pressure in this fixture but BA will stand to the occasion and formation/strategies that will be mapped. BA to win it for their fans.
Dapaah predicts: BA United 1-0 WAFA

Heart of Lions vrs Bechem United
A simple bouncing back game with a victory for Lions at Kpando. Bechem knows that they have nothing to achieve at Kpando so they will go there because they have to. Lions were beaten well by Liberty because of a different style of approach towards that game so they must blame their tactics at away sometimes. Bechem ain't those clubs who will cause problems for Lions at Kpando so they will be hit by another away defeat.
Dapaah predicts: Heart of Lions 2 -0 Bechem United

Wa All Stars vrs Accra Hearts of Oak
Wa will be the venue of attraction for the people in the northern sector of the country because of Hearts poor record over there. Hearts to continue the unbeaten run at Wa against Wa All Stars but Stars will also be looking forward to captalize on Hearts bad run there as well. Wa All Stars will be looking forward to bounce back after their defeat last weekend but it won't happen against the latest in- form club. This game is very difficult to go for one side due to statistics and records so I will go for a split.
Dapaah predicts: Wa All Stars 1-1 Accra Hearts of Oak
