Dunkwa United – high on confidence after beating Kotoko 2 – 1 in Elite Cup – have a date with Samartex, and Eleven Wise take on Proud United, with both teams level on points. Pundits Corner; Derek Dapaah's Prediction of First Capital Plus Premier League week 22

The First Capital Plus Premier League returns this weekend with week 22 fixtures after a ne week break for the MTN FACUP, and as usual, Derek Dapaah looks at the chances of the 16 teams as relegation stairs into the faces of some clubs

Great Olympics vrs Bechem United
Olympics are trying to get things back for them to avoid relegation this season but the question is can they survive? Time will tell. Bechem United have had the best run so far in the second round, losing only 1 game in their last 5 and it's a great results for a club like Bechem. I think they will be looking forward to grab a point this weekend with Olympics still in process of avoiding relegation. Bechem have nothing to lose now with eight (8) matches to go.
Dapaah predicts: Great Olympics 2-0 Bechem United
Form guide: Great Olympics: LLLWL- 15th position
                       Bechem United: WDWLW- 11th position

Liberty Professional vrs Medeama SC
This fixture came at the right time for both clubs because it's not a decisive fixture. Both clubs are lying in a position that will guarantee them a top four(4) spot but can both clubs make it after the last fixture? Liberty have the upper-hand in this fixture with a merit of playing home so I see the fans cheering them to victory. I hope Medeama SC will be seeking for a point split which will be very difficult at the Carl Reindorf park. With Liberty being the favorite in this game and also want to take advantage of other clubs ahead of this weekend fixtures to make a top four(4) finish.  I will go for Liberty win at home against 9th position Medeama SC.
Dapaah predicts: Liberty Professional 2:1 Medeama SC
Form guide: Liberty Professional: WDWLL- 8th position
                      Medeama SC: DLWLD- 9th position

Kotoko vrs Berekum Chelsea
Kumasi Asante Kotoko are now getting things back gradually but it's hard to be convince about their form in the domestic cup competition whether it will have an impact on the league now, this fixture will tell. I hope Chelsea knows that a draw/defeat will let them slip but a win will let them be at the second position so I think they have to give everything to win this game which it will be hard to come to past. I urge them to end this game in a draw. Kotoko will now give everything out to end the season in a style to get the fans to rally behind them. Kotoko will fight for a win but Berekum Chelsea will surely be urging them to end the game in a draw.
Dapaah predicts: Kotoko 2:1 Berekum Chelsea
Form guide: Kotoko: LWLWD- 10th position
                      Berekum Chelsea: WLWDW- 2nd position

New Edubiase vrs WAFA
I said it last two weeks that WAFA will get results at home and might lose points away because they are already safe for next season despite eight(8) matches to go. WAFA have nothing to lose this season, they have already won many hearts of football lovers due to the style of play. Edubiase will be asking themselves, what is happening to us after beating Kotoko at Baba Yara? Their midfielders were unstoppable but now they are being stoppable. They need to win this fixture or else they will drop to the relegation zone to join other clubs to battle for survival. I always do not want to go against WAFA but this it will be very difficult to go behind them although they must do everything to get in the top four(4). Edubiase to grab the maximum three (3) points.
Dapaah predicts: New Edubiase 2:1 WAFA
Form guide: New Edubiase: WDLWL- 13th position
                      WAFA: DDWLW- 3rd position

Heart of Lions vrs Ashanti Gold
Worthy Champions although they aren't crowned as Champions with eight (8) matches to go. AshGold must grab a point over here with Lions battling for a miracle to be out of relegation. It will be a nice fixture to watch this weekend with Lions surviving, AshGold maintaining gap. Lions haven't had the best this season despite winning some big matches. They have only picked two(2) points out of their last five(5) matches which is awful. Will AshGold capitalize on this bad run to maintain the gap or will fight for a draw. With Lions bad run in the second round of the league, I think they will still struggle because this game is a very difficult fixture for them due to their poor form in the league. AshGold will surely grab something at the end of the game. Lions fans shouldn't give up despite there have been bad officiating against them.
Dapaah predicts: Heart of Lions 1:0 AshantiGold
Form guide: Heart of Lions: LDLDL- 14th position
                      Ashanti Gold: WDWLW- 1st

Aduana Stars vrs Hearts of Oak
Accra Hearts of Oak! What will you do at Dormaa versus Aduana? It's hard for Aduana to lose at home and moreover against Hearts, they will do everything to beat them. Hearts know it as well as their fans because Hearts five(5) fixtures ahead can drive them to relegation if they don't find a solution to what is happening to the entire club. You can lose point(s) away but don't afford to lose at home too. A big club like this must know how to handle situations like this or else they will regret this season and blame their coach instead of the management  and the board. It is possible Hearts of Oak will pick a point from this game to salvage thir image
Dapaah predicts: Aduana Stars 1:1 Hearts of Oak
Form guide: Aduana Stars: LWLWL- 4th position
Hearts of Oak: WLDDL- 12th position

Hasaacas vrs Wa All Stars
Hasaacas are really enjoying this season with a nice run, losing only one(1) game in their last 5 fixtures and they are playing home too so it means Wa All Stars are in trouble. Wa All Stars haven't been bad too this season because the find themselves in the first five(5) clubs in the league log and they are also aiming for a top four(4) spot as well. This fixture might be good for Hasaacas but bad for All Stars. Hasaacas will be closing on to the second spot whiles Wa All Stars will slip if they lose this fixture and it's at stake, they will lose. Hasaacas one of the in-form clubs in the second round and they are enjoying it well match by match. I hope they finish the season in a fantastic way to boost more fans to the stadium come next season God willing. Wa All Stars to fall at Sekondi.
Dapaah predicts: Hasaacas 2:0 Wa All Stars
Form guide: Hasaacas: DWLWW- 6th position
Wa All Stars: LWWLD- 5th position

BA United vrs Inter Allies
BA United have given up already because they can't survive unless there is a miracle or else they are the first club to be relegated with eight(8) matches to go. Inter Allies are the only club to remain unbeaten in the second round and I think they will be hoping to continue their impressive run against BA who are playing away from home. This means BA can lose this game because their fans won't come in numbers. Allies to grab the points at the end of 90minutes.
Dapaah predicts: BA United 1:2 Inter Allies
Form guide: BA United: LDLDD- 16th position

Inter Allies: DDDWW- 7th position

Pundits Corner: AshantiGold to Wrap up 2014/2015 league with victory

This weekend marks a turning point in the First Capital Plus Premier League with only 10 matches to spare, Ashantigold SC hopes to consolidate their position on the top of the log with a clash between themselves and the second placed team (Aduana), Once again, Derek Dapaah looks at the permutations in the 8 matches

Medeama SC vrs Kumasi  Asante Kotoko
Medeama SC must also capitalize on this poor run of Kotoko in the league or else they should forget top 4. Kotoko have been in their worse performance over a decade and they don't know who  to be blame. Medeama SC are struggling to find their rhythm in the league as well as their opponent so we have a game to watch at Tarkwa. "The game of the survivors" is the name of this fixture. If last week's victory is a wakeup call for Kotoko fans, then they will surely go at it against Medeama. Asante Kotoko have a better head to head record against the Yellow and Mauves, and will seek to capitalize on that, but Medeama have been very good at home this season, and therefore, I will go for a point split for the two due to their abysmal league performance in the second round.
Dapaah predicts: Medeama SC 1:1 Kumasi Asante Kotoko
Last 5 matches:
Form guide: Medeama SC- DDLWL: 7th position
Kumasi Asante Kotoko- LLWLW: 8th position

Inter Allies vrs Great Olympics
Bad time for Olympics because they are just fallen short in their away matches. Olympics' bad run in the league, just came in the second round and it really creating a dangerous relegation zone for them. Allies gave their fans first victory in the second round at the same venue where Olympics will face them, Tema Sports Stadium. Inter Allies will make two(2) straight win on a row and Olympics fans will be angry at their board executives, that is why I said this fixture came at the wrong time. Allies to do it with a narrow victory.
Dapaah predicts: Inter Allies 1:0 Great Olympics
Last 5 matches:
Form guide: Inter Allies- DDDDW: 10th position
                       Great Olympics- DLLLLW: 15th position

Ashanti Gold vrs Aduana Stars
This is my game of the week. If Ashgold beat Aduana this weekend then they are the Champions of this seasons league 2014/15. Aduana will be looking forward to close the points between them and AshGold which is impossible at Obuasi, whiles AshGold will be hoping to extend it. AshGold have been playing like they want to be Champions despite losing last week so I can't go at them when playing home. They know that if they beat Aduana, they are Champions so they will give everything out to beat Aduana come Sunday. AshGold will beat Aduana easy at Len Clay without any bad officiating to be crowned  Champions. Aduana already knows, they have nothing to achieve  in this fixture
Dapaah predicts: Ashanti Gold 2:1 Aduana Stars
Last 5 matches:
Form guide: Ashanti Gold- DWDWL: 1st position
                      Aduana Stars- DLWLW: 2nd position

WAFA vrs Heart of Lions
WAFA has nothing to lose in the league when the season ends because they have really impressed many football lovers. Sogakope will be a big problem for clubs from now till week 30 and it's starting from this weekend against Lions. Lions are in a big mess because they have been banned from home so they will share another points when they play next week. Lions will lose many points in their three(3) fixtures from now till week 23. Sorry for their fans. WAFA playing style is questionable but it hard for them to find the back of the net sometimes. I know Lions will do anything to steal a point  to avoid relegation but I don't see that happening. They will be in that zone for two(2) weeks.
Dapaah predicts: WAFA 2:0 Heart of Lions
Last 5 matches:
Form guide: WAFA- LDDWL: 5th position
Heart of Lions- WLDLD: 14th position

Accra Hearts of Oak vrs Sekondi Hasaacas
Hearts of Oak must win this to get their fans back and "Homowo" festival to starts in a grand style. Hearts are really struggling to get the results they want because their strikers aren't scoring and Herbert must change his style of play( play without a striker). Hasaacas are on top in this fixture picking 10 points out of 15 points whiles Hearts 6 out of 15 points, which is very bad. Hearts can lose this fixture if they don't take time because Hasaacas have what it takes to beat them at their own backyard, but Herbert will win this to limit the pressure on him. If Herbert loses this match I think he already knows that,  he will leavie his job as the manager/coach of the club at the end of the season. Drop your strikers and play a new system to get things back for Hearts. Hasaacas to trouble Hearts this weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium. Fans should go and rally behind their clubs.
Dapaah predicts: Accra Hearts of Oak 2:1 Sekondi Hasaacas

Wa All Stars vrs BA United
BA did their best to hold Accra Hearts of Oak last weekend in Sunyani but can they do that in WA? No. Wa All Stars will be looking forward to get back to their new position, 2nd after losing last weekend so they will capitalize on Aduana's away game ( Not  good at away matches) so BA won't stand to the occasion far away in WA. BA should just limit the goals they concede when going away and focus on their home matches. All Stars to win this comfortably.

Berekum Chelsea vrs New Edubiase
From the form guide, everything shows that this match can end in a draw or in favor of the home team. Edubiase must look at the form guide, everything shows that this match can end in a draw or in favor of the home team. Edubiase must use the strategy they used against Kotoko as their away tactics to get the point(s) they need. Now, they are battling for relegation and if they don't take care they will be relegated. Edubiase must do everything to end this game in a draw or else the relegation fever will catch them up. Chelsea won't lose this game because they want to finish this season in a grand style by being in the top 4 so I don't think they will let a point even slip from their own home.
Dapaah predicts: Berekum Chelsea 2:1 New Edubiase

Bechem United vrs Liberty Professional
Despite Liberty's nice run in the second round of the league, they will fall against Bechem. Bechem haven't had their peak in the second round but they won't let Liberty go with a point. They want to avoid relegation so they will win their home matches and draw some of their away matches as well. Liberty can go at it but it will be a tough task for them. Bechem at home is dangerous like Aduana so we will have a game to watch. Bechem to win this for their fans to get them back to the stadium.

Projected First Capital Plus Premier League Winner: AshantiGold SC to win with 55 points

With just 10 matches to end the 2014/2015 First Capital Plus Premier League, Totalsportsghana.com has projected that AshantiGold SC will win the league with 55 points, leaving their closest contenders Asante Kotoko with 49 Points six points adrift  the top.
The analysis took into consideration the performance and trend of the league from week one to 20, and the data of the last 10 matches in the past 5 years of the teams currently in contention. With a 75% win and 25% draw in the league coupled with the fact that only 12.4% of the matches has ended in away wins, We don't expect any significant change from the trend, and believe if it continues as expected, then the miners will win their first League title in 20  years.
Below is their last 10 league matches
AshantiGold FC         0 - 0     Aduana Stars  05-Jul-15
Heart of Lions 0 - 0     AshantiGold FC         19-Jul-15
AshantiGold FC        0 - 0     Edubiase FC  22-Jul-15
Asante Kotoko            0 - 0     AshantiGold FC         26-Jul-15

AshantiGold FC        0 - 0     WAFA            06-Sep-15

ANALYSIS
AshantiGold currently occupy the top spot with 37 points, They have a  total  home points of  26 from 10 home  matches, an average of 2.6 while they have  away points of 11, an average of 1.1 points from away games.
per the analysis, the team will pick 13 points from the remaining 5 home matches and pick 5 points from the remaining 5 away matches which will together give them 55 points.
37+13+5=55points
If AshantiGold maintain their past 5 years record of picking an average of 18 points in their last 10 league matches, then one can easily say they are run away league winners, the data below shows the performance of AshantiGold in the last five years (Their last 10 matches in the League)
2009/2010 W5 D3 L2 = 18 Points
2010/2011 W5 D3 L2 = 18 points
2011/2012 W4 D5 L1 = 17 points
2012/2013 W5 D1 L4 = 16 Points
2013/2014 W5 D2 L3 = 17 Points

Aduana Stars
They Occupy the second spot with 32 points now, and have picked 28 points from their 10 home matches, an average of  2.8 points per home match. Aduana has picked just 4 points from away, an average of 0.4 Points per match
Per the analysis, Aduana will pick 14 home points, and 2 away points from the remaining 10 matches.
32+14+2=48
Aduana Stars have an average of 14.8 points gain in their last 10 league matches in the last 5 years, with the exception of the 2009/2010 and the 2013/2014 season where they picked 17 points in their last 10 matches, the best they have done is to pick 14 points, if the trend continue for Aduana then our analysis of them picking 18 points in the last 10 matches this season will come to pass.
Below is their last 10 league matches in the last 5 years
2009/2010 W5 D2 L3 = 17
2010/2011 W4 D2 L4 = 14

Asante Kotoko
They have picked 16 points from the 10 home matches, an average of 1.6 per match, and picked 12 points from away matches, an average of 12 points per match. Kotoko currently has 28 points, and for them to win the league, they have to defy the leagues average wins of 2.45 points and win all the remaining 10 matches, to get 30 points, and a total of 58 points.
If the trend remain as it is, Kotoko is likely to pick 8 points from home, but then they have games against certain opponents they have had historical advantage over at home in the league, and will therefore improve upon that trend, we therefore expect them to win 4 and draw 1, thereby giving them 13 home points from the possible 15. per  the trend, Kotoko is expected to pick 6 points from the remaining 15 points, but once again, they are unpredictable in matches against Hearts of Oak, and away against Hasaacas. Kotoko is highly unpredictable in the league, we therefore foresee them picking  8 points from the remaining 15 away points.
28+13+8=49
Asante Kotoko has an average of 17.8 points in their last 10 matches over the last 5 years, and that trend looks to continue this season
Below is their last 10 league matches in the last 5 years
2009/2010 W4 D2  L4 = 14
2010/2011 W5 D3 L2 = 18
2011/2012 W6 D3 L1 = 21
2012/2013 W6 D4 L0 = 22
2013/2014 W2 D3 L5 = 9
Below is their last 10 league matches
Medeama SC  0 - 0     Asante Kotoko            05-Jul-15
Asante Kotoko 0 - 0     Berekum Chelsea         19-Jul-15
WAFA 0 - 0     Asante Kotoko            22-Jul-15

Hasaacas        0 - 0     Asante Kotoko            06-Sep-15
Asante Kotoko 0 - 0     Aduana Stars   13-Sep-15
Hearts of Oak
Another team worth considering in this Analysis is Accra Hearts of Oak, but as it stands now, they have 26 points, 11points adrift the top team, and must win four matches and expect the opposite to happen, beyond this, Hearts of Oak has relatively tough games away against Liberty Professionals, Medeama sc, and WAFA, and a tricky home game against Asante Kotoko, and Hearts of Lions,  we therefore do not see them making the top four position this year.
Berekum Chelsea
Berekum Chelsea  are not left out of the analysis, they have 30 points now with 5 home games against New Edubiase, Liberty Professionals, Medeama SC, AshantiGold, and Wa All stars, with their bad away record in the league which has seen them not win in 30 consecutive away league matches, Berekum Chelsea will likely settle for the fourth Spot, we believe Berekum Chelsea are capable of winning all their remaining home matches to give them 45 points
Wa All Stars
Even though the Wa based club has enjoyed a relatively good second round, they are still bad travelers, picking just 5 points, from a possible 30, the trend is likely to continue. If Wa All Stars continue their current good home form, then they are expected to pick 13 homes points from the possible 15, while we don't expect them to pick an away point, that will eventually give them 43 points in total at the end of the league.

WAFA
Below is their last 10 league matches
WAFA vs  Heart of Lions
Edubiase vs WAFA
WAFA vs Kotoko
Liberty vs  WAFA
WAFA  vs Bechem
Medeama vs  WAFA
WAFA vs Chelsea
Olympics vs WAFA
AshantiGold vs  WAFA
WAFA vs Hearts of Oak
WAFA are in the top four now with 30 points, and relatively good at home,  their last five home fixtures are matches that involves some of the "Big Boys" in the league (Hearts of Oak, Kotoko and Heart of Lions) these are difficult home matches for the Sogakope young lads, they will require extra effort to win all three.  WAFA is likely to pick 10 points from the remaining 15 home points available,   WAFA's last five away matches will be "hell" for them against New Edubiase, Liberty, AshantiGold, Medeama, and Great Olympics, with their bad away record in the league, the Analysis gives WAFA just 1 points from the remaining 5 away matches.  Therefore they are likely to end the league with 41 points.
WAFA 30+10+1=41
In the final Analysis, GhFootballFacts expect the top four to finish this way:
Ashanrigold  = 55 Points
Asante Kotoko = 49 Points
Aduana = 48 Points

Berekum Chelsea = 45Points
